Contains photographs of the following military units: 274th Infantry Regiment; 8605th U.S. Army Claims Team. General description of the collection: The Ernest J. Rokahr photograph collection consists of photos which reflect Rokahr's service with the 274th Infantry Regiment and subsequent service with the 8605th Army Claims Team. There are no photographs of any other period of his career, yet he signs his correspondence, "Col., USA Ret." Many of the photographs were taken when Rokahr was on 3-day passes or on rest and recuperation (R & R). Some, such as those of Leipzig, were taken when he and a team were escorting displaced persons back to Russia. The photos are basically of town views and architecture in cities in Belgium, England, France and Germany. Many of those in Germany show destroyed cities and villages. There are a few photos of atrocities. Other photos in this collection are of the officers and staff of the claims team with whom he worked and their activities.
